Changelog v0.11.0 — Surfaces
2026-05-03·Releases
Three small things were bugging us.
A light theme
SimpleIdle has only existed in the dark. That was on purpose — the cosmic-mathematics tone wants a black backdrop — and dark is still where the game looks like itself. But not everyone wants a black screen on their laptop in a sunlit room, and "tough" wasn't a great answer.
Settings → Appearance → Theme. Light or Dark, kept with your save. The marketing pages flip with you too, so reading a post and clicking back into the game doesn't put you on a different surface than you started. Your choice is read before the first frame paints, so reloads don't flash the wrong colour at you.
Dark didn't move. Light is its own thing: softer slates, accents retuned so they still hold contrast on white, the cosmic gradient overlays kept but turned up enough to actually see.
Tooltips quiet down
Hovering an affordable Buy button used to pop a tooltip that just repeated what the button said. "Buy ×1", with a tooltip telling you it costs 1.96K units. You already knew. The label said so, the cost column said so, the units strip said so. It was noise.
Affordable buttons don't show a tooltip anymore. The disabled ones still do, and they tell you something you'd actually want — how many units short you are, and how long that is at your current production:
Need 1.96K units · 12s
Bulk-buy ramps earlier
The secondary buy button used to jump straight from nothing to ×10 the moment you owned a hundred copies. The stretch from twenty to a hundred was a lot of clicking ×1.
It ramps now. Same slot — the label changes as you grow into it.
- 0–19: ×1 only
- 20–49: ×1, ×2
- 50–99: ×1, ×5
- 100–999: ×1, ×10
- 1000+: ×1, ×10, ×100
Saves
v0.10.0 saves carry over. Schema didn't change.
What's next
Accessibility, then one more balance read-through. After that, we're dropping the pre-release suffix.
